Stewardship

The following is adapted from Alice Leason’s stewardship testimony which she gave during worship on Sunday, November 17th:

I love this church. It is friendly, comfortable, supportive and caring. When Dunk and I first came, we were welcomed like friends.
We don’t get preached at by a sermon but we are given a message. When Pastor Jill has finished her talk, we are asked to share our thoughts about her message. We are part of the service.
We take our Christian caring out into the community including outreach activities like: Appalachian Trail Magic, Sheffield Farmers’ Market, Church on the River, Trunk or Treat, and the Community Tree Lighting.
You never know what to expect. One Sunday we came into the church to find a large sand box right in front of the altar. It was a beach for the children to play in during Holy Humor Sunday.
I will never forget when Thomas brought his chicken to church and placed in on the table. That chicken never made a sound and didn’t move from her spot. I love that a child feels comfortable enough to bring his chicken to church.
As a birthday/Christmas present to Old Parish, I am increasing my pledge. I’m inviting you to do the same. It is something to consider.
In the words of Red Skelton, “God Bless.”
